Born in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Winnifred “Winnie” Whynot (Bolivar). Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother and was very musical. She loved to play piano, guitar and the ukulele and a sing-song with friends and family and especially loved to harmonize and sing with her husband Ernie. She was an active member of the Eastern Star for 50+ years and was Worthy Matron during her tenure. It was common for her to be cooking and serving at community suppers at the local Masonic Hall. Shirley and Ernie were founding members of the 50 Plus Club and St. Margaret’s Bay Recreation Association and was instrumental in bringing Red Cross swimming lesson to the community. Also, members of the White Caps Seniors Club and the St. Margaret’s Sailing Club. She is survived by her children, Kevin (Betty) Bezanson, Carol (Blair) Gallant; Patricia Forsythe, Paul (Lynn) Bezanson; grandchildren Ryan, Luke and Lindsay Gallant; Kyle, Melanie Foster; Emily Forsythe; and Shirley’s special care giver, Belinda Marriott.
