Lloyd Reginald Corney
68, of West Dover, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Friday August 11, 2017 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in West Dover he was the son of the late Raymond and Madeline (Morash) Corney.
Survived by his wife Anne Elizabeth (Fleet); daughters, Kathy Pauls, Victoria BC; Beverley Corney (Lloyd) Halifax; Tammy Corney (Danny) West Dover; Wanda Lee Corney, Halifax; Brothers, Earl Corney (the late Barbara Corney) White's Lake; Larry Corney (Karen) Prospect Bay; Sisters, Ruth Allen (Gerald) West Dover; Beulah Slaunwhite (Harold) Terence Bay; Anne Harrie (David) Terence Bay; Audrey Slaunwhite (Rick) White's Lake; Beverly Morash (Brice) West Dover; Grandchildren, Dustin, Kevin, Sarah, Calli, Katelyn, Aleta, great-granddaughter Sophia and many loving nieces and nephews.
Lloydie worked hard all of his life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and spending time with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend. He was known by many as Mitch or also the Candy Man. He never went anywhere without a piece of candy to give. Lloydie spent all of his life in West Dover. He was a very caring, loving, kind man with an amazing sense of humour. His knowledge and wisdom will never go unforgotten as he will always be in the hearts of those he touched. Family only visitation will be held Sunday, August 13th from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Open visitation will be held Monday, August 14th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, August 15th at 1:00pm with reception to follow, then burial at West Dover Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Heart or Lung Association.
