Condolence: I could sit glued for hours listening to Donnie’s stories. He knew so much about everything. And if he didn’t… the story was even better! He had the warmest heart, best smile and always made time to stop and talk every time he saw you. Loved that guy. I can’t even imagine the cove without him. To all his family, and especially Sandy and Shea, you are in my thoughts.

Condolence: I was saddened to hear of Donnies passing. I am a Bedford gal and we go back many years. We have not been in touch for years but I will always remember our boat ride.A group of around 10 of us went in Donnie's dory type boat , from Southeast cove,to an island to visit friends. The terror we experienced on the return trip I will never forget. It was rough, the waves were high. Several of the girls were crying.I remember looking at Donnie, who was at the helm, I was afraid too.The look on his face and the confidence he had, made me realize he was going to get us back safely. He was one with the sea.
My thoughts go to his family. The world was a better place with him in it.
PS I did not know Janet Lugar Miller knew you .
regards, Lisa Fuller MacDonald

Condolence: Donnie was an incredibly special person who exuded warmth and genuineness in every way. He was such a giving person and always willing to help and to share his boundless experience and expertise with anyone in need. We loved his deep and endearing sense of humor and his countless stories about life on Aspotogan. He both exuded, and elicited in return, sincere friendship to and from us and everyone he knew. We will miss him terribly. Sandy, you are in our thoughts and prayers.... our deepest condolences to you and Shea. Gina and Ted
