Obituary for Wayne Malcolm MacPhail

Wayne Malcolm  MacPhail
59, of Queensland. It is with great sadness the passing of Wayne Malcolm MacPhail on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at home. Born December 14, 1957 he was the son of the late Joseph and Constance (McRae) MacPhail. Wayne is survived by the love of his life, Gina. His pride and joy two sons Colby and Chad MacPhail; and dearly loved sister, Joanne (Boyd Bonitzke) MacPhail. He was very close to his nieces and nephews, Angela Sangster (Chris, son Jackson), Ian MacPhail ((Melissa) and daughter Peyton), Jacqueline MacPhail, Myles MacPhail. As well, as Sam and Molly Slaunwhite, Nic, Jason, Jeremy and Lucas Rhyno; Michelle and Melissa and many grand nieces and nephews. Known as a Gentle Giant, he was a kind and loving man. Wayne was a Graduate of Sir John A. MacDonald High School and began his career with the Arm Forces. Wayne then transitioned to working on the oil riggs (Rowan Gorilla) for a number of years. He then began his career as a carpenter at Dalhousie University for 21 years, Wayne was known by his coworkers to be hardworking a dedicated man who made many friends and enjoyed his carpentry work. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him at Dalhousie University. Wayne loved his home and worked very hard to make his house a beautiful home for his family and all who came to visit. Wayne, with his kind nature had many friends in the community; although a quiet man he always helped those who needed him. The family will receive visitors 4-7 pm Sunday October 29th in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October 30 in Head of St Margaret’s Bay Baptist Church, Head of St. Margaret’s Bay. Rev. John Purdy officiating. After funeral a celebration of life at the Masonic Hall next to the church.
