Torleif (Tor) Serinius Andersen
July 21, 1949
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Torleif whose journey on earth is now complete. He was a well-loved Son, Brother to all his siblings, Uncle to nieces and nephews. He was 68 years young. Torleif was born and grew up in Simms Settlement with his family and enjoyed his friends from the community. In Torleif’s later years he resided in Dartmouth where he enjoyed excursions within the city, such as the Greek Festival, Buskers and Public Gardens. He enjoyed participating with the New Beginnings/Connections where he put his artistic talents in place. One of his favorite spots to shop was Value Village. Oh my, how he enjoyed to pick up “stuff” and he would pick out specific items for specific people, whether it was for family or friends and he always knew exactly what someone would like. He had a very special friend and the family would like to thank her for your constant visits to our brother every time he would enter the hospital. Torleif loved your friendship and you gave him a special comfort that only a very special person like you could do. We thank you so much LeeAnn for that. We would also like to give special thanks to the staff of the Dartmouth General Hospital and his caregivers at Bissett Court. Torleif is survived by his mother Helen, sisters Berit (Ross), Sonja (Michael), Heather, Barbie (Bill) and Jonas (Daisy). He was predeceased by his Dad, Torleif, and sister Helenmaria. Funeral will take place February 24th at 2:00 pm at St. Luke’s Church in Hubbards. Private interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery. Family Flowers only. Donations can be made to the Schizophrenic Society, MS Society, or charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home.
