Margaret Ida (Lintaman) Manuel
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Nana. 74, of Hubbards, Margie passed away surrounded by her children on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Born in Cow Bay she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth Lintaman and was predeceased by her brother Gilbert and her husband Frank. She is survived by her loving children Andrew (Cynthia), Simms Settlement; Tanya (Tim) Fleet, Cow Bay; Tracey Wright, Hubley; grandchildren Eric, Spencer, Seth, Aiden, Shannon, Brianna, Taylor and Cody. Margie graduated from the Nova Scotia Teachers Normal College at the age of 17 and taught elementary school for six years until she and Frank started a family of their own. She spent the remainder of her career dedicated to her family as a professional stay-at-home Mom. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t clean, cook, sew, fix or bake. She took extreme pride in her family and her home. She was very involved in her community and donated her time and skills to many organizations: she played the organ at church, was involved in the Home and School Association and was an active member with her husband Frank in the Fox Point Lions Club. Margie loved music and loved to dance. She played the piano, ukulele and spoons and loved to jive on any dance floor. Once the kids were grown, Margie enjoyed her time at her grandchildren’s sporting events, 4 wheeling with her husband and enjoying the view of Vinegar Lake from the camp. She will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart and her unwavering love for her children and grandchildren. While we are overcome with grief with the loss of our sweet Mom, we are comforted that her struggle is over and she is safe in the arms of our Dad. A special thank you to the 3rd floor staff of Arborstone Enhanced Care facility for providing her with a caring environment over the past three years. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Ronald A Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. The funeral service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, April 21st at the St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Hubbards.
