Obituary for Peter Lenaghan

Peter Lenaghan
Peter Roy Dorey Lenaghan

72, of Upper Tantallon, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2018 with his loving wife Raylaine by his side. He was son of the late Roy and Lottie (Dorey) Lenaghan. He was a lifelong member of St. Margaret’s Anglican Church where he held many different offices. He is survived by his wife Raylaine (Beattie) of 46 years, sister-in-law, Marsha (Darrel) Burgess; brother-in-law, Norm (Heather) Beattie; niece, Melissa (Justin) Blaauwenoratt; great niece, Kara and special cousin, Mardi. Peter was employed with Maritime Tel & Tel for 31 years in the engineering department, where he held different positions. He was a communications consultant to the building industry, moving on to establishing the building industry consultant service (BICS), completing his career as a joint use coordinator between Mt&T and NSPC. After early retirement he worked at several local businesses over a period of years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery. He especially enjoyed time spent at his log cabin on Island Lake, which was built by Peter, Raylaine and friends. He was a lover of animals and had a special passion for cats and their cocker spaniel “Dusty”. We were blessed to have a loving and supportive family, friends and neighbours and a special thank you to good friends, Joe and Mariette for their love and support, Dr. Holly Zwicker for her care and compassion and Rev. Brieanna Andrews for her visits and special prayers. No visitation by request. Funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7th in St. Margarets Anglican Church, 36 St. Margarets Crescent, Tantallon with a reception to follow in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggys Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. Cremation has taken place with a interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to St. Margarets Anglican Church “Cemetery Fund” or charity of choice.
