Norman Dexter "Pup" Hutt
It is with a deep sense of sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Norman on May 4, 2018. He was born July 18, 1929 to William Edgar Hutt and Hilda Floretta (Boutilier). Norm is survived by his wife Bettye (Boutilier) with whom he had five children Susan (David) Law, Beth (Craig) Grady, Kim (Tim) Pulsifer, Jeffery Hutt and Glenn (Carmen) Hutt. Norman is also survived by his sister Olive McDonald and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Murray, Ross, Max and Keith.
Pup was loved deeply by his grandchildren Josh, Kale, Maggie, Keri, Luke, Alexandra, Emma, Samantha, Owen, Victoria, Jeffery, Olive, Hamish, and Ferguson and his five great-grandchildren. Bettye and Norman were blessed to have a loving and supportive extended family Grayce, Richard, Owen and Blake Rogers. Norman was an active member of St. Luke's United Church, and enjoyed lending his voice to the choir. Norman would offer help to anyone who needed it, volunteered in the community and received the highest honour of the Lion's Club. He played hockey until he was 72 and played baseball until he no longer made the cut. After retirement from Nova Scotia Power Commission where he worked for 33 years, Norm enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, camping at the Hilton, poker with his friends, berry picking until no berries were left, and a yearly trip down south with Bettye and friends. Pup will be deeply missed by his friends, family and the community. The memorial will be held on Tuesday, May 8 at 11am at St. Luke's United Church, 5374 St. Margaret's Bay Road, Upper Tantallon with a reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
